At the digital C2C Summit for municipal climate and resource protection according to C2C, C2C solutions for municipal climate and resource protection were presented on the key topics of procurement, construction, environmental protection, regional development, education, and culture, and discussed with exciting speakers.

C2C Expert Forum: Procurement – Rethinking for sustainable municipal purchasing

Public procurement is an enormous economic lever. According to estimates, the federal government, states, and municipalities purchase goods and services worth €350-500 billion annually. Cities and municipalities account for 40-60% of this volume. On November 10, 2022, we presented our procurement guidelines based on Cradle to Cradle and discussed with exciting experts how municipal procurement can be successful according to C2C.

C2C Expert Forum: Room Concepts – Innovative Product Design and Interior Design According to Cradle to Cradle

Healthy and circular interiors with Cradle to Cradle. We spend 90 percent of our time indoors – often in air that is worse than on busy streets. At the C2C Expert Forum, we discuss room concepts that are material-healthy and recyclable according to Cradle to Cradle. From wall paint to floor coverings and window systems to furniture and technology.

With around 250 participants on site at the C2C LAB and online, we discussed on May 12, 2022, how we can use Cradle to Cradle to create circular, livable municipalities.

Cradle to Cradle in municipalities – C2C Congress 2020

At a panel discussion at the C2C Congress on January 31–February 1, 2020, participants discussed the hurdles municipalities must overcome in implementing C2C, how citizens can be involved, and what should be thought globally and implemented locally.

How Helge Viehweg is introducing Cradle to Cradle in Straubenhardt: LAB Talk

Straubenhardt has been the first Cradle to Cradle model community in Baden-Württemberg since 2019. This has a lot to do with Mayor Helge Viehweg. He has been in office since 2013, values citizen participation, and is a big fan of innovative future topics—and of Cradle to Cradle. In LAB Talk with Nora, he discusses how he is implementing the approach in Straubenhardt and what opportunities and hurdles exist for municipalities that also want to apply C2C in practice.
