INPUTS – IMPULSES – KEYNOTES
Digital or on-site
In our short inputs and impulses, our expert speakers and members of the management team have already inspired numerous participants from business, administration, and civil society. With a practical approach to C2C thinking, we have demonstrated how a genuine circular economy works: it does not start with waste, but with design.
WORKSHOPS
with politicians, administrators, and municipal companies
In our workshops to date, including those with the city of Krefeld and the Berlin-Pankow district, it became clear how C2C can be integrated into municipal structures in concrete terms. The focus was on topics such as circular construction, resource-positive events, and circular public procurement.
Together with key players from politics, administration, and municipal companies, central fields of action were identified and practical measures developed. The local connection was particularly motivating: participants developed their own approaches for effectively promoting C2C in their region, from initial pilot projects to the vision of a regional network.
EXCURSIONS
to pioneering C2C projects
Our excursions provide a particularly tangible insight into how C2C works in practice. Together with municipal representatives and other interested parties, we visited locations where C2C principles have already been successfully implemented – whether in new buildings, renovations, or ongoing operations.
Visits were made to the C2C after-school care center in Lüneburg, the C2C wooden parking garage in Wendlingen am Neckar, and the C2C-built Competence Center for Inclusive Sports in Berlin-Pankow. Architects and project managers provided insights into the implementation and challenges involved.
The excursions not only offered new perspectives, but also provided opportunities for exchange and networking—and yielded many concrete ideas on how municipalities can initiate their own C2C projects.
EVENT SERIES
“Circular administration with C2C”
As part of its new integrated climate protection concept, the Berlin district of Pankow is pursuing the goal of resource-preserving, climate-positive, and circular administration. In a joint event series with the district office, we showed how C2C approaches can be applied in concrete terms to new buildings, renovations, and procurement.
“Cities and municipalities are facing major constructional changes – and with them, the opportunity to shape projects that will truly shape the future. The training series shows how the C2C mindset can be integrated into projects in concrete terms. It brings the relevant players together and encourages them to take action.” Cornelius Bechtler, District Councilor, Pankow
The series provided a structured framework for new ways of thinking and acting – and provided the impetus to systematically integrate C2C into administrative processes.
PARTICIPATION FORMATS
“Idea sprint” for a C2C guiding vision
Social acceptance and sound knowledge are key prerequisites for the successful implementation of C2C in municipal structures. That is why we brought together local civil society and city administration in Mainz in participatory workshops to jointly develop a guiding vision based on C2C.
In an in-depth brainstorming session, perspectives were pooled, ideas refined, and initial approaches for a circular city of the future developed. The results have been incorporated into an action paper that provides concrete recommendations for the next steps.
LAB TOURS
through our C2C LAB
The C2C LAB is our education center and real-world laboratory in Berlin, a commercial unit in a GDR prefabricated building that has been renovated according to Cradle to Cradle principles.
We like to combine events that take place on our premises with a guided tour of the rooms, so that circular construction can be experienced firsthand. Those who cannot be there in person can also get a digital insight: a virtual exhibition is available on our website, supplemented by a YouTube video that brings the implementation of C2C in construction to life.
