Problems can only be solved by those who see through them—this is what we promote through our educational work. C2C NGO connects business, science, education, politics, and civil society.
Our volunteers, who are organized nationwide, spread the Cradle to Cradle idea around the world. Our Congress is the world’s largest C2C platform: every year, over 1,000 participants from the C2C community meet here with key figures from science, business, and politics. Forums, lectures, and workshops provide opportunities for exchange and networking.
In 2019, we established the C2C LAB in Berlin: the world’s first comprehensive renovation of an existing commercial unit according to C2C criteria. As an educational center, NGO head office, and real-world Lab, the school of thought and design concept can be experienced in practice. Anyone who wants to contribute to a positive footprint can get involved.
VISION - THIS IS TOMORROW
Cradle to Cradle is a matter of course in the human thinking and acting of tomorrow. Following nature’s example, all waste is a nutrient for something new. We only use materials that are recyclable and suitable for their intended use: healthy for us and the environment. We obtain energy exclusively from renewable sources, circulate water, and operate under fair working conditions. Instead of doing less of the wrong things, we only do the right things. We are no longer neutral, instead we leave large positive footprints: ecologically, economically, and socially. Now we humans are beneficial beings.

C2C NGO is the accelerator for Cradle to Cradle: we promote ideas that enable people to become beneficial. We encourage organizations and individuals to rethink and redesign: through educational formats and by initiating pioneering C2C projects.We demand and promote an intact world.We demand and promote an intact world. RETHINKING - THE C2C SCHOOL OF THOUGHT
In order to solve the problems of our time in the long term, we need to rethink. Today, we humans are wasting finite resources and destroying the basis of our existence. By cutting back and avoiding harm, we may act less harmfully, but we are still far from acting good. We can only solve climate and resource problems in the long term by setting positive goals. By consistently integrating our actions into biological cycles and creating technological cycles, we can achieve real added value: ecologically, economically and socially.
REDESIGN - THE C2C DESIGN CONCEPT
Rethinking is followed by redesigning: The Cradle to Cradle design concept is the guide for innovative and sustainable C2C products and business models. Materials that are healthy for people and the environment circulate in biological and technical cycles. In production, we use only renewable energy, maintain or improve the quality of water and soil and have fair and humane working conditions.
REDIRECT - CREATING A C2C FRAMEWORK
The necessary transformation, which begins with rethinking and redesigning, must be supported and accelerated by reliable and target-oriented framework conditions. This political and economic framework must provide incentives that promote climate- and resource-positive action and make linear thinking and action unprofitable.
